Kevin F. Eustice
I'm currently a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of
California, Los Angeles, where I research ubiquitous computing,
distributed systems, and systems security. I work part-time at the
Aerospace Corporation, the Law Offices of Rosario Perry, and consult
for the law firm of Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp. My hobbies include
hiking, music (I'm very much out of practice), reading, anything
medieval, gaming, and theatre.
Background
I'm a twenty-something most recently from Savage, MN, but I grew up all
over--Wisconsin, California, and Salatiga, Indonesia. I
graduated from St. Thomas Academy
in Mendota Heights, MN in 1995. I spent four wonderful years at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont,
California and graduated with a BS in Computer Science. Since then,
I've completed a Masters Degree in Computer Science from UCLA, and am
continuing on with my Ph.D. research at UCLA LASR under the guidance of Dr. Peter Reiher. My current
tentative dissertation title is "Spheres of Influence--Modeling
Interactions in Ubiquitous Computing."
Family
My direct family is
located in and about Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. My dad Ronald Eustice is
the executive director of the Minnesota Beef Council, and is a
outspoken proponent for food safety and quality assurance. My mother,
Margaret Eustice, is a realtor and one of the founders of the Guarantee Marketing Group. I
have two siblings, John and AnnMarie. John is studying horticulture at the University of Minnesota, and AnnMarie is studying Business and Design at the same institution.
